Serious considerations for those thinking of giving up their cat-

The reasons are many: "we don't have time for our cat", "my kids are going off to college", "the kids won't clean the litter box", "we have outgrown our cat", "the cat doesn't like the new puppy." No matter what your reason is for giving up your cat, please reconsider! Under the best of circumstances your cat will be stressed out in a new environment! Some senior cats get so stressed out that they stop eating and go into liver failure and even the calmest cats get URI's. Think of what stress does to your immune system--your cat isn’t any different. Try to find a way to keep your cat. If your cat has litter box issues then talk to your veterinarian. If it turns out to be a behavior problem then think about an outdoor enclosure--here's a link: http://www.cats-on-line.com/  If you're moving to an apartment, try to find one that is pet-friendly: http://www.myapartmentmap.com/pet_friendly/
